TEMP
Back
My first major computer science project. Well, as anyone who takes computer science knows, the only thing worthwhile to make is a game and utilities for games. Now I originally planned Temp to be the best thing since sliced bytes, but I had trouble. I was limited to DOS, which was the style at the time. I started by using the most advanced graphics package out there created by my friend. It allowed for 320x200x256 colors using an offscreen graphics buffer than ran a couple thousands frames per second when not doing anything. Anyways, it was cool. The game is a lot like Galaxian... no wait it is more like Galaga... Ahhh forget it it is more like space invader.... well I got the idea for it anyways playing Phoenix from Patrick Davidson. It had 2 selectable ships (one of them though has a bug I don't know how to fix where you have a 1 in 5 chance of taking a hit and then ending up with almost infinite life, so it must be a feature). The game only had 6 stages and the last stage you fight this nasty boss. The game was decently challenging only 3 out of the 6 people who played the game could beat it. I thought that to be impressive for my first time. Well, that was in 2000, I have tried working on a sequel named Temper, but it was not so succesful. For the longest time I had tried writing it in Classic.... but there were many problems with speed and knowledge of the platform I was writing for. Maybe I might write it for OSX one day now that I have a knowledge in OpenGL

minimum requirements:
color monitor
66 Mhz or Faster
DOS or Windows 3.1 or Higher
now that is bare minimum but it is nice to play it on the latest systems so you don't have to worry about any slowess in the game.
